Every semester the Central Bank of Chile publishes a Report on Monetary Policy (Informe de Política Monetaria - IPoM) which is created by more than 150 professionals from 15 areas of the organization. Basing collaboration on File Sharing negatively impacted productivity requiring excessive telephonic interactions and generating versioning problems. Due to extremely sensitive nature of the information and communication to be handled by the platform, having the highest standards in terms of data security and encryption was cornerstone for this implementation.

Huddle Group team developed a comprehensive solution based on SharePoint Server 2003 and MS Office Live Communication Server 2005. All instant messaging was handled internally using secure encoding protocols. Team whiteboard and BI web parts were developed and appropriately customized to cover Central Bank of Chile specific requirements. Other team collaboration tools and functionalities were integrated into the solution.

Central Bank of Chile was able to have a “one-stop shop” for all their team communications and data repository needs while enforcing tight security standards. File Sharing was successfully replaced by collaboration tools increasing productivity due to features such as document history and versioning, concurrency control, document meta-data, etc. This allowed them to implement a more decentralized operating model and at the same time achieve higher levels of integration among offices across the country.
